As some of you may know, I created and developed the current Renegade Sprint Car Series website a few years ago and continue to update and maintain that site on a regular basis. A lot of work went into the design and implementation of a points tracking system as well as the other features available on www.RenegadeSprints.org. While that was not my first attempt at creating a website, it was one of the first I created based on a full-featured Content Management System. Using what was learned building that site, the new HighDesertVideo.com (this website) was created late last year.
We have a number of web projects in development now, but the latest to go live is one created for the Need 4 Speed Racing Team, www.Need4SpeedNM.com. Rather than create the points tracking system from scratch, as was done on the RSCS site, Need4SpeedNM.com incorporates an off-the-shelf module that was adapted to meet their specific needs.
While building that site, I realized that it wouldn't be too difficult to create similar sites for any of the local (or even not so local) race teams or class organizations. The cost to get a new site up and running can vary, depending on the type and amount of content required, but it could be much less than you might think!
I would like to talk with any business, team or organization that is interested in developing a web presence. If you already have a website, but would like to add functionality or just need a new look, please give me a call. My phone number is available on the Contact page of this site.
The first local track event of the 2010 season was a Play Day last Sunday at SNMS. I was there to take some pictures and get a preview of any new cars that came out to play.
Mercedes Harris was there with her new X-Mod and Dave Deetz brought out his Limited Late Model to get in a little practice before the Tucson race next weekend. I would say they still have a few bugs to work out on that car before it's "Race Ready"!
